The purpose of this Blog

This blog is to detail my 50 years (1973 - 2023) with a 1928 Chevrolet tourer, affectionately called "The Red Chev".

The acquisition, restoration, improvements and my experiences over the years are covered in as much detail as I can remember.

Some of the later postings include car club outings and other vintage car items that I hope will be of interest to people.

If you have the time, scroll back to where it all began in 1973 and follow the journey so far.

Thanks for dropping by.

Regards Ray Dean

!928 Studebaker restoration by Finch Restorations - Part 1 and 2

Finch Restorations in Mounty Barker South Australia have started a full restoration on a 1928 Studebaker.

Lets follow the story so far, with their Facebook posting and photos

This magic 1928 Studebaker has recently been shipped to Finch from a rural Western Australian property. The body has been removed from the chassis; the chassis has been stripped and is about to be blasted, the refurbishment of driveline has commenced (see separate album). Please contact us if you have a Commander donor/parts car or guards/panels/body in good condition.

With the car completely stripped, starting the driveline restoration was next on the agenda.
