The purpose of this Blog

This blog is to detail my 50 years (1973 - 2023) with a 1928 Chevrolet tourer, affectionately called "The Red Chev".

The acquisition, restoration, improvements and my experiences over the years are covered in as much detail as I can remember.

Some of the later postings include car club outings and other vintage car items that I hope will be of interest to people.

If you have the time, scroll back to where it all began in 1973 and follow the journey so far.

Thanks for dropping by.

Regards Ray Dean

Day 42 - 28 Chev Ute Restoration (12th September 2015)

This posting could also be titled "Red Chev Back Home & Some Very Good Luck"

The Red Chev came home today after being on holiday at Chris and Emma's house at Narre Warren since May.

Grant Fowler  http://montythe1928chevrolet.blogspot.com.au/ and I have purchased a collection of 28 Chev spares from a Chev guy who is moving to Queensland and selling off the parts that he has collected over the last 40 years.

This purchase will give me the bits I need to finish the 28 Ute, and Grant a healthy stock of spares for Monty the 28 Chev.

Next Saturday will see a very early 3 hour road trip to collect the parts in the pictures below, which include a rolling chassis,.with disc wheels and tires, 2 spare engines, extra gear box, set wooden spoke wheels, rims, disc wheel front end, numerous panels and guards, vacuum tanks, and other bits and pieces.
