The purpose of this Blog

This blog is to detail my 50 years (1973 - 2023) with a 1928 Chevrolet tourer, affectionately called "The Red Chev".

The acquisition, restoration, improvements and my experiences over the years are covered in as much detail as I can remember.

Some of the later postings include car club outings and other vintage car items that I hope will be of interest to people.

If you have the time, scroll back to where it all began in 1973 and follow the journey so far.

Thanks for dropping by.

Regards Ray Dean

Offered is a 1925 Chevrolet 1/2 Ton Pickup with a rare Martin Parry Model 222A Cab Top Light Express Body. Formerly owned by an Auto Upholstery Shop in Bremerton, WA, it's been stored in a climate controlled garage it's whole life. The wood cab frame is solid with no rust on sheet metal. Engine is presumed to be a 1928 4 cylinder; block # is 3897541. Wiring for electrical and headlight rims need replacement or repair on this 88 year old pickup.
The truck was running & driven in Aug. 2008 and entered in a WA truck show. The mechanical Vacumn Pump has been rebuilt but not installed. The Starter has been rebuilt but nor installed; likewise, the Generator was rebuilt but not installed. A new oil filter is included. Also, included in sale are two 21" wooden spoke wheels.
Truck has clear WA title. Sucessful buyer to pay $1,000 to PayPal; balance due in cash as delivery. Buyer to provide any commercial shipping but would assist with loading. I reserve the right to end bidding early as it is for sale locally. If questions, my phone is 253-381-4764.
Correction: Upholstery Shop purchased truck in 1962--so, it's been stored in climate controlled garage the last 50 years. Also, correct paint colors from Martin Parry are Pekin Green and Black on cab body.
