The purpose of this Blog

This blog is to detail my 50 years (1973 - 2023) with a 1928 Chevrolet tourer, affectionately called "The Red Chev".

The acquisition, restoration, improvements and my experiences over the years are covered in as much detail as I can remember.

Some of the later postings include car club outings and other vintage car items that I hope will be of interest to people.

If you have the time, scroll back to where it all began in 1973 and follow the journey so far.

Thanks for dropping by.

Regards Ray Dean

The Asking Price of Vintage Wrecks?

The pictures below are of a 1927 (was listed as 1926) Chev Ute (was originally a car cut down) that recently went for $2,036 on Australian EBay. A lot of time and money will be required to get this baby back on the road. Note the rusted chassis and fuel tank.

I would imagine it would have to be a restoration project as $2,030 would seem a lot for a parts car.

But still???

Seems to be the way things are going in OZ, not many left now, unlike our Stateside cousins who are still finding hidden treasures as barn finds. Importing from thew States would be my choice now if I had the folding stuff.

I wish the new owner well with the long road ahead of him (or her).
